Members SonderingSusan Posted May 12, 2016 Members Report Posted May 12, 2016 Hey everyone, would anyone be able to recommend a system for logo embossing that they found works well ? I was looking at a method where you buy the stamp and heat the leather with a heat gun, then apply the stamp with logo on it. All opinions / info welcomed ! Thank ! Quote
Members Matt S Posted May 12, 2016 Members Report Posted May 12, 2016 Perhaps you have seen Ian Atkinson's video where he hears the logo stamp with a heat gun then impresses his design with an arbor press. It is much more usual to heat the stamp/die than the leather. Quote
Members Sonydaze Posted May 12, 2016 Members Report Posted May 12, 2016 A hot embossing/stamping machine is what I use. Used ones often can be found, These machines also allow you to use embossing foil to add colour if you like. With the heat, most chrome tan leathers emboss well. The heat will darken light coloured vegitan leather, the logo will be be darker... I usually like the effect. In Canada, I get my dies made by: https://www.sterling.ca/graphics.cfm Look at the magnesium plates, 1/4" deep work well. A plate should last several thousand impressions Quote http://www.bound2please.com Sewing machines: 3 - Sunstar 590BL, Artisan Toro 3200, Juki LK-1900HS, Juki DDL-8500-7, Juki DDL-5550N, Pfaff 138-6/21, Pfaff 546-H3, Pfaff 335-H3, Adler 221-76, Singer 144WVS33, Singer 29K-51, Siruba 747B
