$$hobby Report post Posted November 4, 2016 Hey all, For those of you living in or around Paris and London, this is a heads up. I figure some of you may not frequent this board enough so I'm give you all a heads up and hopefully enough time. Im downsizing and selling my leathercraft/saddlery books. I know that for those outside of the USA its not as easy to get some books as it is here so I'm paying it forward for this one time unless I can find more really good round trip tickets again. Some rules. > The books are in English. > Some books are new or newish but they will all be sold as USED. I bought them from my local bookstores and some of them have been used (by me) and many not. I tried to note if there are any issues. > i dont have my list ready. I'm working on gathering my books and what I'm willing to sell so dont ask for any titles before I'm ready to post. Keep your eyes peeled for the add. Most likely in Jan or Feb 2017. > I will be only bring what i can fit in a "carry-on" size soft side tow behind. It will be checked in since I will have my own carry-on for my personal items. There is also a 50 pound limit. Im not sure if all of my books will exceed the 50 pound limit, but just an fyi and I may not be able to bring all of the books. > Books brought with me will be first come first serve. Once the luggage is full, thats it. I will try to pack and arrange the books to get the most out of the space available. I maybe able to get some in my carry-on since I will be traveling lighter than normal, but no promises. Note there are a couple large size books? They have been folded and will be folded to bring with me if someone wants them. they will most likely be "carry-on" and folded. > Cash is king. I will accept Euros or BPS. It will be 1 USD = 1 Euro = 1 BPS. Prices in USD. > For those in the UK/London area. I will be staying near Kings X. Im not going to run around London with all of the books to meet all or any of you so you will be going to me near Kings X. I will be making day trips to Manchester, Brighton, Oxford and Edgware (RAF museum). If any of you are near those places I can meet you at the train stations in those cities/towns. The days and times are unknown at this time. I want to use the trains more in the UK and am taking this opportunity to do so. Once I land LHR I will be getting a SIM for my phone so I will have a local phone number and will be able to text or email or phone. I have plans to do and see things in London and the UK so my time to wait around will be limited. > For those of you in or around Paris. I will be in Paris for one long day only - sorry. I will be on the first Eurostar train from London and it arrives Paris ~ 0930. I would rather meet you at the train station first thing. I will be in Paris only. No day trips outside. I’m planning on a foodie tour with some shopping and seeing some sights I missed my first time and maybe go back to the Louve. At this time only a handful of things are planned. I will not be carrying these books around Paris. Worse case I will put them in luggage storage at the station. > Any of the left over books, if any, will be for sale to those in the USA and I will post them once I return. Caio and have a great holidays. if the mods feel this add isnt appropriate or it violates any policies, please accept my apologies and remove it. I will be posting the add in Jan/Feb 2017 anyway. $$hobby Report post Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Hi again. Well here is my list of my Leather books for sale. as a reminder, i will be taking any books first to the UK/Paris first for anyone overthere thats willing to pay and meet me at the locations stated. The balance will be sold here, if any, once i return. Here is my itinerary for places i will be. It should be good to go but you never know what will happen between now and then. I would like to make any trasnfers upon arrival in London or at the other place on the list below. That way i can move about without any baggage. If not, i will see if there is any lockers to use. I know there are some in the train stations in London and Paris, but not sure about the other towns. ALso as a reminder it will be first come first serve. $$hobby Report post Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) OK I'm back and sorry for the delay for those of you chomping at the bit.... 01-june-2017 update Heres the deal for USA folks. The list has been updated for remaining books. There was a couple folks that posted their wish list before I left for my trip and I will honor their wish as much as I can. The books with the strike through are not available. For the rest of you that waited – thank you for doing so. Once you know what book(s) you want, I can see how to pack them in the best way using Priority Mail boxes or envelopes and will notify you of the total price, including shipping via USPS Priority Mail. If you want insurance, then I will need to look into that and the rates. If you only want one or two books, I maybe able to stuff it into one of the USPS Priority Mail ENVELOPES with some padding/protection if the envelope allows it. Again, using USPS Priority Mail ENVELOPE it will cost approximately $7.00 USD. I wont guarantee how the books will arrive in an envelope but I will try to package as good as possible and if necessary I will send them in a Medium Priority Mail box that will cost about $14.00 USD to ship. The USPS has a book rate, if you care to look at their web site and determine if you wish to use that service. Note that it maybe inexpensive but it also maybe slow. I will also have to find some boxes to fit what you want and that will add some delay. These books will only be available until 30-June-2017 or if they are all taken before than. Thanks again for looking. TO…… Geargarcon If you are still interested #20, Leathercraft tools is still available. However the other book, #36 The art of Hand Sewing was given to a local scout. Petro49er, Your list is complete with the exception of #20 and #36, The art of hand sewing… Both of you have PMs. ** Large Format - folded in center. (NIW) - New in Wrapper REV NO. Sorry no. i was in the UK/Paris a couple months ago and so i brought a carry-on with what people wanted and sold them face to face. It would have been less expensive to ship from Europe to Norway, but im back in the USA now. i doubt, what i have you would want to spend the money on shipping from the USA. if you know of anyone coming to the USA/Hawail/Alaska, i can ship there.
