Sorry for your loss, but I'm sure that you already know that your wife would want you to get back up and enjoy life. Looks like you're making a good start. Welcome back. RockyAussie Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Nice looking machine but I see a Fortuna behind with what I think looks like a full bell. What may I ask was the need to retire it?
needles Report post Posted December 16, 2016 ha ha i was gong to buy everyone one for xmass, but my bah humbug got the better of me.... retired because it's old and has a noisy clutch, always wanted a new one, so decided what the hell. can I show you what i made last weekend, it was a design my wife started befoe she passed but didn't finish, so i tried to finish and build it, a few things could do with changing, but think it turned out ok, so going to give it to our daughter for xmass.. what do you think. sorry no carving

bikermutt07 Report post Posted December 22, 2016 Your daughter will love it and I'm sure your wife is proud to see you moving again. My wife and I lost a baby boy in 2014. I had always wanted to do Leather Work and starting to do it brought me back from the bad place. Making small items got my hands moving again. Funny how a simple hobby can have such an effect. Our loss also propelled my wife into taking her painting more seriously. She has done her best works in the last two years. Carry on friend.
YinTx Report post Posted December 22, 2016 That is going to be the best Christmas gift ever, so much sentimental value in that, not to mention it looks great! Absolute kudos. YinTx
