Evo160K Posted March 22, 2017 Author Report Posted March 22, 2017 Jimi, No problem with the metric measurements, I use them frequently. Thank you for your help. Your pictures and that sketch are perfect, exactly what I need, thank you, thank you very much. I owe you Jimi. Regards, Quote
Evo160K Posted March 26, 2017 Author Report Posted March 26, 2017 Jimi, It looks like the table has a routed profile on some of the edges. Would you be able to take a picture of that profile? Thank you Jimi. Quote
Members jimi Posted March 27, 2017 Members Report Posted March 27, 2017 (edited) Al, that routed edge is on the older tables, this one is from 1950 and has no profile. Edited March 27, 2017 by jimi Quote
Members jimi Posted March 28, 2017 Members Report Posted March 28, 2017 Al, i think that profile you are looking for is the same as the one on the edge of the square board that goes underneath the machine. but possibly a little larger if the table is 30mm thick?? it is in the second last picture of the table top pictures where you see the thickness of the top table. the arm screws into this and not into the table. regards jimi. Evo160K Posted March 28, 2017 Author Report Posted March 28, 2017 Jimi, thanks for explaining that to me. As long as I have to make the table from scratch, I'll try to replicate the edge on the small board and put it around the edge of the table. Judging by the first picture above, it looks like the "cut-out" portion doesn't have an edge. What do you think? Thanks Jimi Quote
Members jimi Posted March 29, 2017 Members Report Posted March 29, 2017 Yes it looks like they just cut it out and sanded the corners? Quote
Members Davidmadd Posted April 3, 2017 Members Report Posted April 3, 2017 As I mentioned in my request for info. regarding some flat springs for a 45K and a 29k, I have just acquired a Singer 45K68, along with it was the flywheel, or inertia wheel, of its original treadle base. Now all the photos here and elsewhere show that these flywheels have a relatively short central shaft, but not my one. The shaft is 28 inches long and the wheel is 17inches diameter, and it is heavy! Now its most unlikely that I will need this flywheel, so if anybody is interested in it then please contact me. It would be horrendously expensive to ship to the USA no doubt but there maybe somebody here in the UK searching for just this item!!! Quote
Evo160K Posted April 3, 2017 Author Report Posted April 3, 2017 Davidmadd, Your flywheel is the same diameter as the one I acquired recently with the base, yours has three belt pulleys, mine only two. I have no idea what base uses your wheel. You're correct about it being heavy, I paid $60 USD to bring it to the US from the UK. Quote
Members jimi Posted April 4, 2017 Members Report Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) Hi David, could you put some pictures up of your machine for us? it is always good to see the various classes of this machine and what they were used for. the 68 would be for stitching soles on boots?? would that be right? and it also cut a channel in the sole to hide the stitches? if you need some parts there was someone selling a feed dog for your machine?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Simanco-FEED-DOG-95101-for-Singer-45K69-45k-69-/272132484551?hash=item3f5c5c2dc7:g:qokAAOSwKtVWvnhl Sorry to digress from the topic of the treadle Al.
