Juki DSC 246 thread tangle

Hello Everyone!

I have a Juki DSC-246 and I have a little problem with it. I made a video about it, so if you check it out and know the solution please write it to me!

Veiwing on a phone all i can see is the thread path maybe the issue. Possibly a bur on the needle tip thus cutting the thread. This or maybe the needle bending  from such a tough peice of veg tan and this action moving the thread to close to the biting dogs in the thread path.

Do you have this same problem with white thread?

I have had black thread that absolutely will not sew, does exactly what your thread is doing in the video.

Thank you for your help! It dosn't matter if I use black or white thread it always does the same. What I realized now, that usually this problem pops up, when I try to sew slow. On normal speed, or call it fast speed everything is fine, but when I want to sew slower this problem appears.

If the needle is piercing the thread on top of the material it might be caused my looseness on the downstroke of the take-up lever. This is the reason sewing machines have a "check spring" between the top tension disks and the take-up arm. That spring should keep the thread taut as the take-up arm moves down and let go after the tip of the needle is in the material. If your check spring stops moving too soon, there will be slack top thread in the eye of the needle as it is meeting the top layer which could get pierced by the needle. To remove this slack, increase the travel of the check spring to keep the thread tight a little longer during the downstroke. After piercing the material, the spring should stop moving and let the thread form a loop for the hook..
