Very good looking set.  That's quite a bunch of work there.

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

“I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” THE DUKE!

After watching the "shootouts" endlessly, . . . taking screen shots, . . . capturing and printing images, . . . I finally got what I thought was a pretty "true to the movie" copy of what was used.  The color is much lighter, . . . but the customer wanted it that way.

He also wanted a cross draw and a cartridge belt.

May God bless,

Dwight

I know this blog is nearly 4 years old, but is there anyway you could direct me on where I might get a shoulder rig like this? I'm very much like your friend in the sense that I am very particular. I don't want to pay a lot for a product that I'm not fully behind, and you've gotten the look of the shoulder rig more accurate than any other I've seen so far. Many people say, "Doc Holliday styled holster," and your right... it's just not it. So, if there was a way I could give you some business and get one from you, that'd be awesome.

Good morning James3 . . . yes, I guess you could talk me into making another one.

But you are back a ways in the line of "stuff" I'm doing.

Among a pile of "other stuff" . . .

Got a Fury holster to do (from Brad Pitt . . . tank commander in the movie "Fury") . . . which is a kind of a complicated piece of work.

As well . . . a full size 45ACP in a shoulder holster . . . with 2 mag ammo carrier under the other arm . . . all incorporated into a pair of leather suspenders . . . for a fellow who steps down the road at about 6'3" and 300+ lbs.

While having to put up with more snow this winter than in the last 3 or so . . .

But we'll get to you . . . but gotta find the patterns first . . . somewhere in my menagerie of a leather shop.

I'll need your height / weight / right or left hand / gun you plan to use / color you prefer etc . . .

May God bless,

Dwight

Ok, that's fine. I figured you would have several projects on your plate. Well, I'll send the measurements for that as soon as I can, I'm just waiting to get the pistol that I'm wanting to use for the measurements. Also, is there a chance that I could talk you into one more belt? My brother is a big Bonanza fan and would be interested in Little Joe's belt.

That would be quicker and easier . . .

Measure his belt . . . from the outside of the edge of the buckle  . . .  to the hole he uses most . . . and get his jean's size.

Lemme know.

Also need to know what gun he plans to use.  AND . . . is he left handed or right handed??

May God bless,

Dwight

I managed to sketch out the huckleberry rig that Kilmer wore. Its not like the rig shown on many sites. The gun side shoulder strap goes all the way around the gun shoulder and connects back to the holster furtherdown the straight side of the holster. Mid way the offside strap connects to the gun strap. That same offside strap goes over the off shoulder and straight down to connect with the waist strap. the waist strap goes all the way around the waist.  There is no ring or butterfly at the neck in the rear.
From the holster, I extended the rear piece to offer two attachments. One oriented up for the shoulder and the other for the waist. Towards the bottom of the holster I have an attachment for the waist strap and the rear of the gun strap. The offshoulder strap is thin, say 3/4" with a buckle. The gun strap is thicker and you can add bullet loops. I did 1" for the waist and 1 3/4" for shoulder.

If you take a couple belts and sit and think about it you can come up with how it attaches based upon the few pics of Kilmer wearing it. Good luck.
