Members KingsCountyLeather Posted August 5, 2017 Members Report Posted August 5, 2017 I've never been to a leather craft/tool show... Is there any in Europe for the rest of 2017? how would I find information on what show's are coming for 2018 in Europe? regards, Ger. Quote
Members Mokerson Posted August 6, 2017 Members Report Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Ger I'm looking for the same info myself, though for stateside. It seems like most of the shows that occur here in the US are west of the Rockies. If anyone has a good list of shows industry shows I would like to look at it as well. bikermutt07 Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 I believe there are threads concerning trade shows on the main page. Quote
Members Mokerson Posted August 7, 2017 Members Report Posted August 7, 2017 Thanks bikermutt, Ger I don't know if you will find much more than I did but it looks like most of the action stateside is Texas and west. Quote
Members Deb791 Posted August 7, 2017 Members Report Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) What is considered the main page? I'm new here I see the forum topics list, but not sure where to find the main page. What obvious thing am I missing? On the calendar page I found info on the IFoLG 2017: https://www.ifolg2017show.org/ Still looking for the one in Prescott next winter I suppose. There's one in Pendleton in November Edited August 8, 2017 by Deb791 adding information Quote
Members Mattsbagger Posted August 8, 2017 Members Report Posted August 8, 2017 Prescott and Sheridan are the big ones. They are in the spring every year. Check out The leathercrafters and Saddlers Journal they put on Prescott and Sheridan. Quote
Members Weaver Leather Supply Posted August 8, 2017 Members Report Posted August 8, 2017 Prescott in Feb or March (Southwest Leatherworkers) and Sheridan in May (Rocky Mountain Leather Show) are both put on by Leathercrafters Journal. They do a great job and are both good shows. There is also the Boot and Saddle Makers Show in Wichita Falls, TX in Oct, and the Pendleton show in November. I have never been to Pendleton, we do the Wichita Falls show every year. It is also a good show. Leathercrafters Journal was doing a show in Europe in Firminy France, but I believe that show is on hold until they find a new location. Quote

I know Italy is known for their quality leather, and I heard somewhere that they do shows too but I don't know when or where? I was in Italy earlier this year and I bought some leather but it was soo commercialised for tourists. I'd rather see the real craftsmen than stalls with nothing but bags. Also I don't want to go to a craft fair and only see maybe one leather craft stall... i lived in New York for 14 years, pity I wasn't working with leather then! Quote

Have you been to any of the shows in the states? I wanted to go to Prescott this past year and I asked some questions about it on the Leather Crafter's Journal page and they were all deleated, so with that I didn't feel very welcome Curious to know others experiences and if it is worth the trip?
