Wow I will have to give that a try but it looks pretty difficult! Quote
electrathon Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 That looks like a mini5 basket stamp tool. Quote

But if you look very close he would have had to turn his knife exactly the same and made intentional overcuts at a completely different angle than he was cutting at. Almost impossible to do, on purpose or accident. The imperfections are all in a straight line, as are the other imperfections. It looks to me like he was not that used to using the mini5 tool and got a little off on the alignment as he moves across the leather. Quote
Members Halitech Posted October 4, 2017 Members Report Posted October 4, 2017 you could be right, I know I have seen someone do this pattern without any other tools and I haven't seen the mini5 you are talking about so not sure how it would look if he got off alignment. Quote

electrathon Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 The guy is on facebook, the Pinterest image is of the tool. He makes a few different angles of the tool. I bought mine a couple years back and have not done any more than play a little with it. I just looked at the above link, that is the guy. Quote
mikesc Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 He used to be on here, last in 2015. http://leatherworker.net/forum/profile/58812-mini5/ currently has a shop on pinkoi https://en.pinkoi.com/store/mini5-leather-craft-life Quote
Members YinTx Posted October 5, 2017 Members Report Posted October 5, 2017 Here is someone making a belt with an almost identical look. You can see the pattern he cut into the leather, and the method he uses to bevel it. YinTx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L8DigdkDsM Quote
electrathon Posted October 5, 2017 Report Posted October 5, 2017 The pattern is cut, it is stamped in with the tool. Then you bevel. The tool comes as a set. Quote
