Has anyone ever tried cutting a Poundo board?

Recommended Posts

One of my friends here locally has a Poundo board he doesn't want and is willing to sell me, but it's an awkward/irregular size (I think it might be a remnant or factory defect). Has anyone ever tried cutting one? I'd like to trim it down if possible to make it fit my with my granite slab on my work table.

The poundo board will grab your knife or whatever you are cutting with. You want something slick so your knife will just glide over.  Poundo boards are great for using punches on.

Hope this helps,

Terry

I have cut them with a circular saw ,and cleaned up the surfaces with a belt sander ..

I've never used a Poundo board, but I understand they are made from thick, resilient rubber

You could try using a hot knife, like a cheap vegetable knife heated in a gas flame. But let's see what other members think of that

The boards that I was referring to are not rubber they are a very hard plastic ..
