steelhawk Report post Posted December 3, 2017 I saw this stamp used and like it's effect. Sadly, I can't find it anywhere for sale. It looks like a 9 with camo around it.
TomG Report post Posted December 3, 2017 Are you sure it's a stamp? Some of the swirls look different.
mikesc Report post Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) I agree with Tom, that looks like swivel knife hand made cut spirals with "camo" stamping around each , it is a very small picture too. Edited December 3, 2017 by mikesc

TomG Report post Posted December 4, 2017 Does the stamp have more than 1 curly at a time? I looked at the photo again and it still looks like the shape of the curves are different. Good luck in finding it. I suspect it might be a custom 1-of-a-kind
Big Sioux Saddlery Report post Posted December 4, 2017 While looking for a different stamp for myself, I came across something in the Weaver catalog that might be close. On page 248 of the 2017 wholesale catalog are a group of cheaper stamps. Second row from the bottom there is a left and right version of something real similar. You would have to top each impression with a cam, but when I saw it I thought of your post. Good luck.
Sheilajeanne Report post Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) That type of scroll is an extremely common element in Sheridan carving. See this example here: https://www.tandyleather.ca/en/product/revival-handbag-kit Here's a Craftaid template with a bunch of Sheridan designs on it: These are NOT stamps - they must be traced and carved, then stamped using a number of different tools (leaft veiners, bevels, seeders, pear shaders, etc.) Can you show us a better picture? How big is the scroll? Maximum size for a stamp is usually about an inch. Any larger, and it's nearly impossible to get a clear impression. steelhawk Report post Posted December 4, 2017 Here's a bigger picture showing it's use.
mikesc Report post Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) OK..Yep..that is a stamp..the "spiral" part ( would have been better to post that 2nd, much bigger, image to begin with .."trick question post" ?) no way anyone can carve a spiral repeatedly at that size..But the "camo" may well have been added afterwards to each spiral, there are small "camo" stamps elsewhere on the item..most of the stamps on that item ( using the belt slots and the stitch lengths as guide to actual size ) are very fine detailed and small. No idea where you'd find it "ready made"..but..a stamp maker could make you one.. Edited December 4, 2017 by mikesc
Sheilajeanne Report post Posted December 5, 2017 Yep, that's a stamp. And some VERY nice tooling! Is that a saddle?
steelhawk Report post Posted December 5, 2017 Its a holster. I came by the picture during a search and don't know who made it. Yes, it is outstanding tooling. What I wanted to know is if the stamp was offered for sale somewhere, like Barry King Tools. If so, I wanted to buy one and use it. But it looks like it isn't, so its more like the makers signature tooling or something like that.
