Great responses everyone a huge help. I had originally thought to use glue but I thought that A: that would look bad B: figured it would be hard to get glue to stick to the glass. Kiwican thanks perfect for what i want. Now as for the businesses idea pretty simple and an excuse to use my leather scraps is a simple businessof selling Australia air...yep thats right moonshine air with a bit of leather craft selling it more as a novelty item

Hose clamps!  Honestly go try some things and then come back here and you tell us. You are not wasting time or leather as long as you learn something.

I prefer to ask questions of people that have done something that I have not before I jump into ANY projects why reinvent the wheel?

No. The jar stays in tight. I have to pull it from the sleeve when I want to clean it. When I first made it. I had to work the jar in. Over time it stretched out a little. But at no time have I ever been concerned that the jar would slip out. I used sno seal on the inside of the sleeve to protect against moisture getting into the leather which is something you may want to consider also

Two of three designs I have, thanks for all the help everyone. By the way the store idea that I am currently working on is selling the sleeves and mason jars, with a catch and that catch is I am actually going to be selling air...100% Australian ocean air, that is harvested by hand, just as the sleeves are handmade the air itself is harvested by hand...told you it was a crazy ass idea lol. I am sticking with the stitching to hold it together as I like that look a little better than straight rivets.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Years ago, the tourist trap shops in Florida used to sell cans of Florida sunshine for a couple bucks a piece. If you google "Canned Florida Sunshine", you find both vintage and new cans for sale.   I'm sure they laughed all the way to the bank on those.   Your idea is much better, tho.  When the novelty wears off, it's still usable as a drinking cup!
