It's the fleece.  "wool" is the fuzzy part,, "fleece" includes the skin.

If this is what folks are using to apply dyes and finishes, I would love some. Glad to pay for smallish pieces.

Is 10 pounds of it too much to have on hand?

Hey @bikermutt07 I got some from the colonel myself and haven't touched it yet. It's still in the box haha. Mine was about 5 lbs.

So10 lbs will last you a good while I think. I will be using it for antiquing and finishing. I just haven't done any for a while :( makes me sad.

... and use Nitril gloves when applying dyes so your hands don't come out the same color as what you're dyeing.

That's a pro tip from cowboycolonel guys! Seems simple right? Yeah, I once dyed my hands black because I thought gloves are for wimps! Not true, walking around with black hands, that's a bit embarrassing haha.
