Does anybody happen to know the mm equivalent of Craftools Sizes? The only info I can find is "The larger the number, the wider the bevel." LOL

I have a size #2 and a size #3 but the #2 is still a bit large for 3/4 oz. leather. Any help?

It is like that with all of their stuff. I think it's designed to keep people in the dark. That way they spend more money trying to put it all together.

I have the 0 and the 00. The 00 is great for small stuff. As far as what it compares to? I just don't know. I use the 00 on wallets and the 0 on belts and straps.

But, I will say this, that handle is fabulous in the hand.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

I did find a conversion table from the number to mm online, possibly on a sellers website, so the info is out there ....... somewhere.

If i can find it tonight i'll post it.

I just purchased a Craftool Pro stitching chisel because they are on sale right now if you're an elite member. It's a 3 mm, and measuring the prongs with a ruler confirms that. I compared it with the regular chisel I already have which is supposed to be a 2 mm - says so right on the handle! Nope, its prongs are actually 4 mm apart! :rolleyes2:

Crazy, really...

There is no standardization of measurement between companies. Even Craftool and Craftool Pro. Some measure at the point of the tines. Some the space between the tines.

Yup, both Tandy. One is their regular Craft tool stitching chisel, the other their Craft tool Pro!
