How good are Wuta products and delivery time

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon folk

Just wondering if anyone uses Wuta leather goods and how they rate them, they seem to have a large selection but long delivery times

They do have long delivery times to the States. And, because of that they offer free shipping. The old "slow boat from China" trick. But, at least the are up front about the time frame.

Their templates are great, although sometimes some instruction would be helpful. The pricking irons are probably as good as any others that are twice the price. Most of the other stuff is good too. I was a little disappointed in the square\round hammer. I haven't used it yet,  but it looks a little rough. I also bought his full set of round punches and they seem awesome. But, I have had limited time at the bench with them. The little needle holder tubes listed on eBay are fabulous for the price. Machined brass and exotic hard wood at 2 for 6 bucks. They are really nice. I have ordered lots of stuff from them and give them high marks. And he usually sends a little Wuta gift with every order.

I haven't tried their thread or slicker yet, but I did buy some. I also haven't tried their edgers or creasers.

They will always have some of my business.

I have  order them on Amazon. They are good , not the best . In most cases better than Tandy.  The edge creaser works great . Hope this helps,

I had purchased their stitching chisels and edge creasers. Both were good.  I ended up selling the chisels when I purchased KSBlades.  Still use the creasers.

I contacted them directly by email and paid 27ish dollars for expedited shipping (~8 days).

Check around.  Pricing is different depending on the venue.  I believe that ebay is cheaper than Amazon.

I bought their pricking irons, which have an excellent price/value rating, also have their (fixed) edge creasers, which work pretty good and I have a set of their diamond awls. The quality of the awls were mixed, I had one hat wasn't glued accurately so the tip fell off but the other 2 are good. Shipping is really long but all items arrived eventually. I also had better experience with ebay than with amazon in terms of shipping time. Also worth noting, I bought the pricking irons on ebay and selected the wrong option and they let me change it although it was already at their post office. So I'd say the service is pretty good.
