Members superpacker Posted May 21, 2018 Members Report Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) I'd like to make a briefcase and need help finding a pattern. I'm not trying to make something big and overbuild like a Saddleback bag, rather, I'm looking for something really minimal and slim, just enough to to carry maybe a note pad and an ipad, maybe a few other little odds and ends. Maybe either a zipper closure or a single buckle or lock, not multiple straps and buckles. I've seen patterns online for the Saddleback style bags, but nothing online like this. If anyone has anything like this, or has seen one, can you please share the pattern or a link to purchase the pattern? Thanks! Edited May 21, 2018 by superpacker Quote
Members Dunluce Posted May 21, 2018 Members Report Posted May 21, 2018 I don’t know if this is what you want but have a look at Andersen leather blog for some lovely briefcases and build descriptions http://andersenleather.blogspot.co.uk/ Quote
Members charon Posted May 22, 2018 Members Report Posted May 22, 2018 Take a look at the messenger bag Ian Atkinson makes in his video here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rycY4Q96UQ8 You can follow his over 2h video to make it step by step and the printable pattern costs cheap. Just made it and I can totally recommend the pattern for non-professionals Quote
bikermutt07 Posted May 22, 2018 Report Posted May 22, 2018 Al Stohlman's "Leather Cases vol II" has several brief case patterns, and a lot more. Quote
Members Tugadude Posted May 22, 2018 Members Report Posted May 22, 2018 I also used the Andersen pattern, at least for inspiration. I actually made my own pattern after studying his and modified it some to meet my personal needs. Worked fine for me. I think that is something you might consider. Quote
