Constructions Electriques Super Motor

Recommended Posts

As I am swapping out to a TechSew servo on my new/old machine I have removed the original clutch motor (anchor...bloody heavy).....

As the subject line says it is a  Constructions Electriques Super Motor type  M603850 C26. Made in Belgium. Still trying to get a clear picture of the name plate and data.

It ran very very quiet when I tested it before buying it and the clutched seemed very smooth and didn't not jump or slip as I ran up the speed as slowly as I could.

So a few question as always:

  1. should I put it on my Singer 95K51? which has a noisy old motor on it..
  2. should I keep it as spare in case the servo ever packs it in?
  3. is there any value in it such that is worth putting up for sale (I am in Toronto Ont Can...so buyer proximity/market is a factor

I cant find anything on line to help date it or about the company of any real use.

I am sure there is a motor guru here who could chime in.

If you're comfortable with using a clutch on the old Singer then if this one runs better I'd stick it in the Singer. I doubt if there's a huge market for clutch motors (there isn't here) but I suppose you might get a couple of $$ for it? Probably can't ask much.

I have 3 "spare" clutch motors at the moment (I've already given one away and junked another very old one!). One of the spares is a very old Singer, but it just looks real nice so I kept it :rolleyes2:.

I am selling a clutch motor for the last 10 years for $40 Canadian and had only one person contacting me insisting he wanted a 1700 RPM motor, while mine was clearly 3450. Tells you how much demand is out there.
