Members braider Posted September 14, 2007 Author Members Report Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) Here's a new bag style I recently came up. This braided leather shoulder bag is 100% leather. It has no hardware, lining, zippers, etc. - not even any thread. And, of course, it's truely hand made - no electric was used to build it. Contributing Member wolvenstien Posted September 14, 2007 Contributing Member Report Posted September 14, 2007 Beautiful work. I love the braided shoulder strap on the second one you posted. I truly wish I could learn to braid like that. What do you sell a purse like that for? Mike Craw Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Wow, that is great looking work! I really like the braiding. It gives the work a signature style that I've never seen before. Can that style of lacing, using lighter weight lace, be used on projects like purses? I also went to your site. It's all outstanding work, Dave! Members braider Posted September 19, 2007 Author Members Report Posted September 19, 2007 I call that handbag one of my 'double flap' bags. I've built them in several sizes and on different types of bags. This one has no gusset and is pleated on the bottom of it. I get near $200 for it. Yes, a person could use lighter weight lace to build bags with. There is another topic in this 'Braiding' section that I started that has more pictures of my work in it. It's title is 'Greetings from a leather braider'. Here is a link to it: http://www.leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5 Thanks for the compliments, ...Dave Quote Anderson Leather Braiding http://andersonleather.com/
