  1. I have a good handle on the accounting side. I just want to tie a manufacturing side to it better. With expansion in near sight, I need to start looking at options. I was hoping there is something out there for us sole operator businesses. There are allot of packages out there, so I'll just keep doing my research. Thanks
  2. Manage my business better than 500 different spreadsheets is what I hope to accomplish. Billing, invoicing, materials management, supplier management, manufacturing costing, etc.
  3. Pully 1 diameter x PI (3.14)/2 Pully 2 diameter x PI (3.14)/2 Plus length of pully 1 center to center of pully 2 multiply x 2. Add it all together is your length.
  4. Thanks for the attempt. But I figured if people don't know what ERP means, they wouldn't attempt to answer.I am looking for someone who has implemented a package in their business for ERP, and MRP which I can communicate with. Thanks again.
  5. Has anyone implemented any ERP software in their leather business. And what are your thoughts of what you implemented?
  6. You can try using a good solvent to lighten the color a little. You wont be able to completely remove it, but it should lighten it a little. A chlorinated brake cleaner should do the trick. Just be advised the solvent WILL remove the natural oils so you will need to recondition it after using a non-darkening leather dressing like Pecards.
  7. I'd be interested in seeing some website metrics, an inventory list, and rolling stock overview.
  8. Too bad it's a local auction only. Some nice stuff to bid on.
  9. I have 4 - 100pks of single edge injector blades available. $20ea or all 4 for $70. Perfect for strap cutters and skivers. Free shipping to continental US addresses. Prefer payment via paypal. Thanks PM me if you are interested
  10. Looks like you're off to a good start! Just remember when you are making your decorative cuts to lift up the swivel knife to fade the line. They should go from deep to shallow. Keep up the great work.
  11. FYI, Latigo is what you all call white hide or red hide down-under.
  12. There has to be some hole going through it somewhere. It may even be a small hole (1/4" maybe) to put the core through and plait on top of it. Otherwise there is nothing to hold the plaiting onto the handle. I do something similar with my whips, but I usually cover the handle. I start with a 6" stainless nipple. I use an 1/8 piece of round nylon rope and start plaiting my core about 6" from the end of the rope. I'll plait 4 layers at varying lengths to start my taper. then once I am about the diameter of the inside diameter of the nipple, I will insert the core. I will tie some small washers along that rope end that I left un-plaited. Now I cap off the end of the nipple, fill it with epoxy, and insert the core. wipe off the ooze, let it cure, and now I have a nicely weighted solid handle with a rock solid core. I should mention the cap I use is a perfect foundation for the butt knot.
  13. Yes. Also, when I meant body solvent I did not mean paint thinner. Mineral spirits will discolor the leather. Body solvent is a prep solvent used to degrease car body surfaces prior to paint, or prime. Common name is xylene.
  14. Item has been sold. Thanks!
  15. I use a solvent to prep before dye. I used to use the feibings de-glazer, which is basically acetone, and keytones with a little methanol added for flavor. Pretty nasty stuff. You can use the dye thinner as a prep solution also. Also if there is a auto body supply house near you you can use body solvent. But with any of these, remember PPE is the most important.
  16. I have a sit and stitch available. Paid 45 for it a couple years ago. Looking for 35. $10 US domestic shipping only. Only used once. PM me if you are interested.
  17. I have to say Bob's tools are top notch and well worth the wait. I ordered a short bodied swivel knife, and a 1/4" filagree blade from him a few years ago. It took about a year to get. But I can say I have never used a better knife. I love the short design, it is so much easier to use (especially if you have shorter stubby fingers like me)than your standard knives. And the bearing mechanism is smooth. All it takes is a little oil once in a while. He is a good honest man. And fun to talk to. Just don't put any orders on hold waiting for his tools, then you'll be broke.
  18. You can mix acrylic paint with PVA Cement for a white flexible edge coating.
  19. Sure. Please contact me @ the_major[@]sbcglobal.net or send me a PM on this forum. Thanks
