Hi there,

I saw somewhere hereabouts, a pattern for measuring a book for a padfolio, but I have goggled and searched to no avail.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

Kindest regards

Brian

Jls also has a small notebook layout PDF on his website. His is for field notes but, he shows how to make the pattern so you could just scale it up.

Or the one I made for my dad measured 19 3/4" by 12 1/4" .That holds a US legal pad.

Thanx for your observations @Stetson912. Unfortunately those are not the posts I have seen. It was a line drawing of how to figure out how much to add to the front and back cover, considering the thickness of the book.

Kindest regards

Brian

Have a look at this video. Although it is for a knife, he shows how to measure & allow for a thick item, and you could use a similar method. It is well worth watching the whole thing for the assembly, finishing, and other techniques, and is a masterclass in leather work

Zulu, look at the top bar in the posting screen. To the left of the quotation marks, you will see what looks like a link in a chain. Just click on that, and paste your link into the box that pops up. Easy peasy... :D

Thank you everybody who contributed, @zuludog, @Stetson912, @Sheilajeanne, and @JLSleather comes through again, with exactly what I was looking for.

Excellent work by @particle on his offerings.

Kindest regards

Brian
