Members ComputerDoctor Posted November 14, 2018 Members Report Posted November 14, 2018 Sam I just finished this Hunting knife scabbard for a good Friend today so I thought I'd showcase it. Besides the built in 'welt's,' the rivet's are precisely placed to keep the blade from thrusting through the sheath in an accidental fall! This was the first time I used my new Cobra class 3 sewing machine on other than a test piece. Quote
garypl Posted November 14, 2018 Report Posted November 14, 2018 Nice looking sheath and knife! Looks like you have learned to use your new machine well. my only comment on design is that I think it would look cleaner and nicer without all the rivets. If you use good welts you shouldn’t need rivets all down the sheath. Personal preference LOL Keeo on stitching and learning your machine! Gary Quote

Members battlemunky Posted November 16, 2018 Members Report Posted November 16, 2018 Looks pretty good Doc. Are you using the anvils that come with the ez rivets? Those can be pulled apart easily enough when set with the anvils and even easier when set flat and have the hell beaten out of them so be mindful of that in case you didn't know already. Also try and match up the shaft length with the thickness of the leather too and that'll help clean up the tops a bit. Looks like you have the sewing machine figured out, those stitches look really neat and clean. Quote
