SaintNick Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Hi everyone. I became interested in leather working because I could not find a holster I liked. I saw a bunch of custom work online and said heck, I can work on just about anything. Why not cow hide? My wife got me a few starter kits from Tandy Christmas of 2017 and I finally found the hobby I had searched for my whole life! Now I find myself at the shooting range a lot less and at my desk playing with my leather all the time. Glad I found where everyone hangs out.
alpha2 Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Your story sounds familiar! But, when I am at the shooting range, people ask about my fine holsters and gun belts! Where are you located? Jeff
JLSleather Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Hopefully I can irritate you into learning even more To begin the irritation, check out and download some [free] holster patterns and PUH LEEZE alter them so they're more betterer. https://www.jlsleather.com/diy/holster-patterns-diy/ Instead of dumpin ammo at the range, you can dump your BUSINESS CARDS

I liked the cleaner look of the one without the stitching around the top and the rear belt loop. It's for a good friend who is going to wear it probably every blue moon or so. It was a rush job for a gift that I finished on Christmas day haha. I like the 1911 holster I made for another friend even better. For some reason I forgot to take pics after I slicked the edges and added the snaps.
fallequinox Report post Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) Haha! I think we're using the same patterns! (I did without the snap) Great work! Edited January 3, 2019 by fallequinox added pic
SaintNick Report post Posted January 5, 2019 Thanks! I used patterns from Adams Leather and JLS and sort of combined elements I liked.
