Find a round hole chisel

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find a chisel with a round hole.

Currently, I am using a 4mm set(2 prong, 4 prong,etc) of chisels that are a diamond shape.

I am trying to find a set that makes round holes. With the exception of a cheap cheap set on Amazon I came across, I do not know where to go. I did see a 4 in 1 on the Tandy website but unsure if it is equivalent to the size I am using.

Does anyone know where I can go to purchase a set to make the round holes?

Thanks

Thanks. I looked over there but the sizes I need are currently unavailable.

Know of any other places I can check?

Thanks. Probably end up getting these, as I am coming up empty handed.

I may grab the ones off amazon though in the meantime until these get here.

Thanks

I went looking for a set as well a few months ago.  Did not see a cheap set that didn't cut a circle out of the leather.  So, I went for using a stitch marker (overstitch wheel) and a round awl as an alternative method.  Worked out ok.

This is the same as I have been doing(the awl). Works out 90% of the time, but i'll still get a few that come out not so straight and seems to take some time.

Going to give them 12 dollar ones a try in the meantime.

How big a round hole does youse need?

I bought these;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3pcs-Tool-Leather-Carving-Hole-Craft-Prong-Stitching-Punching-Punches-Tool/283327622505?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I bought a set with 4mm spacing and a set with 6mm spacing. They make holes about 1mm diameter, Fine for 1mm thread or round lacing

Those look like the ones I am going to get to hold me over. If your using them with no issues, hopefully they will be good.
