Case timing

I was going to start a project and suddenly got swamped with all kinds of other things. What is the longest you should case a 10oz belt blank for? Will it help if I keep it cool, I heard of people refridgerating it.

I’ve kept projects in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge for multiple days. I think 5 days has been my longest.

My first project went into a bag then the fridge 2 days or so after I cased it, I had to leave because of a hurricane, it stayed there even tho the power went out, and when I came back a week or more later, it was fine.  Although I don't recommend that method.  Or hurricanes either, ftm...

My longest carving & embossing project lasted 7 days. I use a plastic bag with a ziplock. Cooling, in my opinion, is required to prevent the formation of mold. If the leather is periodically ventilated (to perform part of the work) and the temperature in the room is not too high, a refrigerator is not necessary. But this is just my personal opinion, based on a little experience.
