Members plinkercases Posted May 11, 2019 Members Report Posted May 11, 2019 With the deep colds this winter the area i kept my Neats foot got to fridge temp. Not frozen but... it is cloudy/congealed... will bringing it to room temp fix or is the oil "off" now? Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted May 11, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted May 11, 2019 Bring up beyond room temperature. If its in a reasonable sized container set it in a bucket of very nearly hot water for a while. After some time give it a vigorous shake. You might need to repeat this a few times. It'll come back to normal. It's only 'off' if it smells rancid Quote
garypl Posted May 11, 2019 Report Posted May 11, 2019 I keep NFO in a mason type jar with a pump dispenser. Noticed a lot of white particles in it after sitting in the cool basement for months. Put it in a hot water bath for about one hour and it turned crystal clear again! Gary Quote
Northmount Posted May 11, 2019 Report Posted May 11, 2019 I have a jug of NFO that is many years old, probably from the early 50s or even in the 40s. It had been stored in a shed that was subject to -40C to +35C. It's still good. Tom Quote
