mrsstupz Report post Posted August 26, 2019 I’m currently looking at buying a singer 31-47 and see it takes 16x113 needles. I’m having an extremely hard time find a source for these in Canada. Can these machines take a different, more accessible needle? Or does anyone have tips on where to buy the ones that are required?
Northmount Report post Posted August 26, 2019 @mrsstupz Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. You'll get more results here. From your IP address, it appears you are in the Winnipeg Manitoba area. You should add your location to your profile so you are more likely to get area specific help when needed. Might even find another member nearby. Tom

Wizcrafts Report post Posted August 26, 2019 I found a source for System 16-63 (16x113) on eBay, here If they won't ship to Canada, contact Techsew in Montreal. They are an advertiser here and have parts and needles for all types and makes of industrial sewing machines. Just click on one of their banners that will appear in rotation with each page load, at the top of each page on LWN.
Bert51 Report post Posted August 26, 2019 I was having trouble getting needles for my 31K47 at a reasonable price, so I adjusted the needle bar slightly and now use 135x16 and 135x17 needles. Bert.

Bert. This is the best way to go then you can get any size & point you need since it is such a common needle.
Bert51 Report post Posted August 27, 2019 It is not very hard to adjust the needle bar and you have a good choice of needles available to choose from. If I can do it, any one should be able to, I'm next to useless on a good day. Bert.
mrsstupz Report post Posted August 27, 2019 Thanks everyone! Some else also told me to adjust the needle bar so that's what I'll do if it hasn't been already.
