Probably a lot of us know that eggs have yokes . . . comedians tell yokes, . . . but who knew airplanes had yokes???

Seriously, . . . show a picture of what you want to cover, . . . and some idea of what you want to finish up with, . . . someone on here can probably help you out.

May God bless,

Dwight

I can't get a picture small enough to post, but the yoke is an airplane steering wheel. Would like to encase it in leather and sew with a baseball stitch or similar.

If you look up leather steering wheels on YouTube you will find plenty of videos showing how to stitch the leather socks over the wheel and you would do the same for a yoke be it curved or straight, nothing technical required

Chechaflo is my go-to for covering things. Watching his videos shortened my learning curve a lot.  A lot of good info on making patterns for odd shapes.

Aircraft yoke, this one is from actually from a flight simulator modeled on on a Cessna yoke. The section I assume the OP wishes to cover are basically straight with a taper.
