huttonbruce Report post Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) I purchased a stitching clam at an auction a few months ago, ($65.00) finally decided to do a partial restore. Buffed / rubbed it out with steel wool an added 2 coats of boiled linseed oil and glued some scraps to the clam jaws I've been to several auctions in the last 20-25 years and these are rare in my opinion. I bout wet myself at $65 bucks. 28-1/2" Tall Edited January 5, 2020 by huttonbruce change

Yes the lever has a cam on the end of it to open the jaws...Push down and it opens up.
