Made up a simple key fob.  Stamped the Marine emblem in it and then glued some scrap green deer skin on the back. Then decided to double loop lace it.  Only down side is the ring is a little tight.

Figured I'd share

Happy hump day

Nice work!  Perfect example of what to do with scrap leather.  I can imagine you also leaving an opening to slip a folded piece of cash into for emergencies.  Maybe instead of a rivet you use a snap?

I always worry the snap will come undone and keys fall off.  That being said probably a non issue.  I have crates of my scrap leather one for black one for browns and one for veg tan.  I just hate throwing any out so I try to use what I can.

No, that's a legitimate concern.  Snaps do open at inopportune times.  I'll bet there is a way to eliminate the rivet altogether and maintain a secure connection.

Nice wee item

agree, a Chicago screw, but with a daisy head so it can be unscrewed with a thumb.

The ring will loosen up

Thanks Fred I agree it will lossen up.  The lacing it can catch a bit when ya spin it but should be ok. Whoever gets it will just have to be careful a bit .  Kinda silly.i suppose to lace it but looks nice !
