AndyL1 Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) Here’s my second ever knife sheath. The first one I made a few years ago. I think it came out pretty sweet. 5/6 veg tan dyed with Tandy’s brown waterstain and antiqued in my signature style. Fully welted along the blade side. The concho was a last minute add, otherwise I would have made the tab a smidge bigger for it. Anyway, came out cool! Edited January 31, 2020 by AndyL1 Added welting info. Quote
Members YinTx Posted January 31, 2020 Members Report Posted January 31, 2020 Really stylish, I like the curves. I do have a question on the rivet. I had considered putting one in a sheath I made in the past, but I worried the blade would drag across it. Is it somehow protected from that, maybe with the welt? YinTx Quote
wizard of tragacanth Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 I like it a lot. Simple but elegant. The concho looks good! nick Quote

Yes, the rivet is captured within the welt. I made the welt about 3/8” wide. If you put one in be sure to skive it down where it meets the point. Otherwise it’s too thick on that end. 36 minutes ago, Hardrada said: Superb! Thanks! 35 minutes ago, wizard of tragacanth said: I like it a lot. Simple but elegant. Members Vikefan Posted January 31, 2020 Members Report Posted January 31, 2020 Great looking piece! Well done. Maybe you can cut leather circles, or add a lining to hide the rivets in the future? Great job! I like everything about it! Vikefan. Quote
