First Holster - Cowboy or Not?

Recommended Posts

Finished up my first holster today for a buddy of mine - he wanted a cowboy holster and mag pouch for his M&P Shield 2.0, definitely not a cowboy gun!

I used 6-7 oz for the body and lined the holster with 3-4 oz. All dyed with Fiebing's light brown Pro Dye and then oiled and sealed. The end of the holster actually extends about an inch past the muzzle to keep it from looking too funky. Big thanks to Jim Simmons for his great holster tutorial!

I like it, it looks great. I was a little concerned about the magazine pouch at first, in the picture you posted it looked like a piece of leather liner around the top. but on a closer look its just a decorative line. I like the rope border you put around everything.

Always that thing about terminating embossing rolls, eh?  Color is nice, stitchin' looks tight.

First response was mighta left more room under the grip (to get the grip) but maybe ya was protectin' that laser?

Yeah, this is one thing I'd change on the next one. It's pretty easy and comfortable to pull the gun out but a little extra room would be handy.
