Members mloser Posted April 8, 2020 Members Report Posted April 8, 2020 I bought a used Durkopp Adler 205-370 sewing machine which works great. I wanted to make sure I understand the lubrication system, so after taking off the end cover (cover with the secondary tensioner on it), I noticed 2 oil tubes that just hang down and drip on the frame of the machine. Can anyone tell me how these should be routed? I printed off the manuals but don't see a diagram or description of the oil tube routing. Quote

Members mloser Posted April 12, 2020 Author Members Report Posted April 12, 2020 Here is a picture of the tubes under the side cover where the thread take-up lever sticks out. I tied/routed the oil tubes in their current position. When I took the cover off both tubes were just hanging there. Thanks, Mike Quote

DonInReno Posted April 18, 2020 Report Posted April 18, 2020 The wicks in those tubes have to be in contact with oil on one end and the moving part on the other end - there shouldn’t be any dripping oil - I’ll bet they were in the correct orientation as you found them. Rerouted and tied up isn’t helping oil get to the moving parts in there. Wicks often look out of place or haphazardly placed, but simply touching a part is all that’s needed. Quote
