Members spurdude101 Posted June 16, 2020 Members Report Posted June 16, 2020 I have a guy wants a holster for a Springfield 1911, 5 inch slide. My dummy gun is a Colt 1911, 5inch slide. Anyone know if the Springfield 1911 is markedly different from the Colt dummy gun? Thanks Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted June 16, 2020 Members Report Posted June 16, 2020 Should be the same as long as neither the Springfield or your Colt mold has a rail. Good luck with your holster! Best, Josh Quote
Members AzShooter Posted June 16, 2020 Members Report Posted June 16, 2020 There is no difference. Quote
Members SLP Posted June 17, 2020 Members Report Posted June 17, 2020 Springfields have an ambidextrous safety. If the holster is a lefty, the safety on the springfield will scrape on the holster, if molded from a Colt dummy. In other words, the colt will be smooth on the right hand side of the gun, while the Springfield will have another safety. Quote
