Members Sheilajeanne Posted August 14, 2020 Members Report Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) I know next to nothing about laser printing on leather. Was this notebook cover done with a laser? COULD something like this be done with a laser? Edited August 14, 2020 by Sheilajeanne Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted August 14, 2020 Contributing Member Report Posted August 14, 2020 a. Those come in a variety, with different messages b. I saw a live one in Belfast, about New Year time afair. By the feel of the lettering and the smell it certainly felt and smelt like it was burnt in using a laser Quote
Members Sheilajeanne Posted August 14, 2020 Author Members Report Posted August 14, 2020 Thanks, Fred. Yeah, I got a PM saying basically the same thing. Seriously thinking about getting one now - need to read up on the threads here! Of course, I wouldn't try to do something so big and elaborate, but it's so much nicer looking than the clunky letter stamps I've been using up until now. I've free-handed a few sets of initials, but that has its limits, too, as there's only so small you can go, and still do a nice job of the tooling! Quote
Members Lfrog Posted September 27, 2020 Members Report Posted September 27, 2020 Yes, thats a engraved leather piece, theyve done a good job IMO. Quote
Contributing Member Ferg Posted September 27, 2020 Contributing Member Report Posted September 27, 2020 I have decided to dive into the Laser engraving, albeit, very small. I bought a diode laser engraver that is only three watts for $250. I know it is limited somewhat in what you can do. I am going to set it up next week. Inexpensive way to get my feet wet. Ferg Quote
