Members logohigh Posted October 2, 2020 Members Report Posted October 2, 2020 Hi hope this is right section is there anything special about needleplate screws ..? iv been to specialist nut n bolt shops but the ones come away with are either not the right thread - or possibly the thread they are going into is fubured ... Either way. the head is too big .Should be 6mm TIA Duncan ( Sail/cover maker ). Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted October 2, 2020 Moderator Report Posted October 2, 2020 They will be metric thread. Contact an industrial sewing machine dealer to get the right parts. Don't ruin the threads to save a few bucks on local, wrong pitch parts. Members Constabulary Posted October 2, 2020 Members Report Posted October 2, 2020 they just cost a few bucks - sample: https://www.college-sewing.co.uk/9400000013-992003376-needle-plate-screw-adler-genuine.html Most industrial sewing machine dealer should have them. And it would not surprise me if they have the same threading as singer 111 needle plate screws but I´m not 100% sure Quote ~ Keep "OLD CAST IRON" alive - it´s worth it ~ Machines in use: - Singer 111G156 - Singer 307G2 - Singer 29K71 - Singer 212G141 - Singer 45D91 - Singer 132K6 - Singer 108W20 - Singer 51WSV2 - Singer 143W2

Members logohigh Posted October 2, 2020 Author Members Report Posted October 2, 2020 im guessing at this point its not the machine screw thats the problem - damn Quote
Members Constabulary Posted October 2, 2020 Members Report Posted October 2, 2020 Thant surprises me cause CS is selling OEM screws as it seems. You never know if one of the previous owners bubba`ed something on the machine. Used machines can be tricky sometimes. Members Kryptonite Posted October 4, 2020 Members Report Posted October 4, 2020 Cowboy Bob at Toledo Sewing just sold me 2 of these screws - for peanuts - lol. Quote
Members logohigh Posted October 12, 2020 Author Members Report Posted October 12, 2020 Turns out the nearside screw hole is fubared , screw just drops in .....other side is better Thankfully ! must taken a long time to get like that i would naturally assumed the machine would be harder than the screw Quote
Members logohigh Posted October 12, 2020 Author Members Report Posted October 12, 2020 The screws from college sew have a 7mm head which would leave them proud of the plate ... perhaps they are for a non OE plate Quote
