Members TomG Posted September 25, 2021 Members Report Posted September 25, 2021 Not a leather question, but a shoe question. My grandson has a like new pair of canvas shoes that are coming loose at the sole edges. The edgers are a rubberish material and the soles look almost like gum rubber. What would be the best glue to reattach the two?? Thanks. Quote Tom Gregory Legacy Leathercraft www.legacyleathercraft.com www.etsy.com/shop/legacyleathercraft
Members Dwight Posted September 25, 2021 Members Report Posted September 25, 2021 My old standby for everything pretty much is Weldwood Contact Cement. I fixed the sole coming off my sneakers with it. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. Members TomG Posted September 26, 2021 Author Members Report Posted September 26, 2021 That was my first thought but not sure if I need to do some prep the the materials or not. I've never used it on rubbery stuff. Quote Tom Gregory Legacy Leathercraft www.legacyleathercraft.com www.etsy.com/shop/legacyleathercraft
Members Aven Posted September 26, 2021 Members Report Posted September 26, 2021 With issues like this, I have had success using Shoe Goo. It was developed for minor shoe repairs like those. https://gluereview.com/shoe-goo-adhesive-review-and-guide/ Quote
