Members howler Posted April 23, 2014 Members Report Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks for this tutorial Kevin - I'm trying out some French binding myself. I noticed that your 30 ins of lambskin is about, say 4 cm wide. Then, after it's rolled over the edge and sewn, a lot of it gets trimmed away. Does it need to be that wide to give you something to get hold of when you're rolling and stretching it over the edge? Could a cost saving be made by initially cutting the lambskin less wide - or does that make it impractical to use? Thanks and regards Pete (UK) Quote
Members SantaFeMarie Posted February 19, 2015 Members Report Posted February 19, 2015 Could someone explain to me what was done after the 4th-to-last photo to get the nice result on the inside that we see on the last photo? Quote
Members FeOxide Posted February 19, 2015 Members Report Posted February 19, 2015 The excess leather was trimmed off very close to the stitching. Quote
Members SantaFeMarie Posted February 19, 2015 Members Report Posted February 19, 2015 Ah, thanks. I did not notice that the inside edge was showing the cut. Would it be possible to somehow turn/roll it as well so no cuts were showing? Quote
Members Bishop Zed Posted April 13, 2015 Members Report Posted April 13, 2015 Great looking wallet which proves a master can certain turn a pigs ear into a .... quality leather wallet. Can I ask what glue you use for the lining? Quote
