Members JayEhl Posted February 17, 2022 Members Report Posted February 17, 2022 I am not a rodeo person but a friend told me about how folks going like to wear some sort of decorative badge hanging around their neck as a pass. Some guys who volunteer get special pins they also like to add like conchos. I made these for him as a gift. The first was smaller with blue back ground (used blue dye but got washed out to a green after I added the antique) but it was more of a mock up. When I first made these they were just going to be just that, a hanging badge. Since then I had the idea of adding a card holders to the back so he wouldn't have to carry around his wallet. The second one I made before i had the card pocket idea so it was already cut. Should've left it alone as there wasn't enough room for the seam allowance. The larger one probably has too much seam allowance but he loves them both. First mock up with blue back ground until it was antiqued This is the second version that was made before I thought of the pockets in the back which didn't allow for seam allowances View with pockets This is the next one I made that is larger This is the final one I made. It's way larger on the side and with four pockets in the back. I'm quite proud of the stitching, too. These are the size comparisons between the two final ones I made. Forgot to say I added edge treatments which made it look nicer but adding edge kote to the chrome tan and veg tan edge is a challenge. I learned quite a lot and most of all, it was a bunch of fun. Thanks for looking. Quote

I appreciate the compliment. I'm working on two holsters and my challenge for me now is to punch straight holes for stitching. But I do loves me some leather challenges!! Quote
