Aaaaand... Done!

Recommended Posts

Time to let out a big sigh of relief. I just shipped out my very last order for Christmas. Time to take a break, clean the workbench, and have some time to think about new projects for next year.

How are you all doing around the holidays? Hoping for lots of success with Christmas orders to you!

Cheers,

Andy

Well where's the picture?!? Congrats! Take that well deserved break.

Curious as to what have been some of your biggest sellers?

Got two notebooks left to go, both of which only need some stamping on the back to finish them. I think that will get done tonight. Only one of those has to be shipped so it's the high priority, but I can get both of them done in time. I want to make a small sheath for a very pointy sissors my wife uses as a stocking stuffer, but it remains to be seen if I can sneak it in.

I handed my last orders that are guaranteed to arrive before Christmas to the postman this morning. (They were scheduled to ship Friday but I finally finished them late Sunday and got them in the mail today.) I am going to take a short break from working with leather, but since I have other businesses, I still have to work so no time off for me.

Haha! Yeah no time for pictures! My Facebook and Instagram have been fairly quiet lately as I just kept pounding out the work. My biggest seller (I couldn't make enough of them) were my Money Clip/Card Wallets. I had around 100 orders for those come in the past few weeks. My billfolds were great too! Now I get to look forward to going to bed at a reasonable hour but more important there are some personal projects I've been really wanting to do.

I hear you on no time off Karina. My day job doesn't stop either!

The last holster went out last week, . . . last two belts went out today, . . . I'm left with re-covering 3 bar stools, . . . got two of the bottoms done, . . . should finish it all up tomorrow, . . . will then be able to concentrate on getting the new leather shop finished.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one quitting early.

I remember my first retail job I worked, . . . 6:00PM on Christmas eve, . . . my boss, Gene, closed the front door, . . . locked it, . . . and said "We're done!".

I haven't been in that situation since, . . .

May God bless,

Dwight

Moving a bunch of my hybrid holsters the last couple weeks. Finished 2 tonight that I don't normally keep around to ship out tomorrow. Shipping a back quiver out tomorrow. Just got an order for 2 belts by Christmas tonight, so I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Luckily I got started on them last week on a whim. I just need to get them to size and do the finish work. Single layers, so it's easy to keep some about 75% finished. He's already got a holster set so I want to get it out for him and his son. Unless it's something I stock or I can knock out in a hurry, I think that will be it.

Just in time for my real job to pick up this week. lol I'm ready for a break.

Haha! Exactly! Thanks man. Even though I'm done with these orders I'm actually itching to keep working. Got some stuff I've been wanting to make for myself this time: I need a new belt!

Oh man, I hear ya. I way overbooked myself and was starting to cuss leather work. I sent out my last Christmas order on Thursday. What a relief that was.

Now I am making some leather items as Christmas presents. These are things I have been wanting to try for awhile. Leather working is fun again and life is good!

I overbooked myself as well, just sent out the last three wallets today. Now I have some stuff to make for friends. Can't wait for the holidays to be over, I could use a break!
