Hello all...... Brand new to the forum, just signed up. I'm desperately trying to find the thickest leather available. I need at least 20 oz leather for a project I've been working on for aaaaaaaaaages. The vast majority of retailers out there sell up to about 16 ounce but that's it. Also, can you tell me which species I should be looking for? I've read the good old bovine has some of the thickest in the neck area but also heard (rumor mostly) that water buffalo and also wild boar have super thick hides. Can anyone help point me in a legit direction with some contacts for super thick pieces of leather I can experiment with? Thanks so much all and Happy Holiday…

So in February I got an order for two holsters, I've been using 6-7 oz and wanted to go heavier with any new ones so I ordered 12 sq ft. of 8-9 oz. I ordered on Feb 19th. between the time getting it out the door and getting lost by USPS I finally got it and it was awful, totally unacceptable. OK, it was B grade but out of 12 sq ft, maybe 4 sq ft. was usable, so a call to the company and it was on it's way back. after the replacement rides around with USPS for a while it arrived yesterday, March 12th and it is 100% better then the first one so now I'm happy. Better late then never, but this is the second time this has happened to me with this company over the yea…

I'm just curious. Is Acadia Leather wrapping up shop? I see they have a sitewide blowout sale and have cut back on the days they're open/ship. Dealt with them a bit over the years and the Hartland Tannery as well until it closed during Covid times. I've gotten some mixed signals from them about certain leathers lately and I'm guessing and just kinda wondering. Seems like they are just a clear up shop for odd stuff/overruns etc. these days Anyone know any gossip good or bad? I thought about asking a Tasman rep when I last called down there, but thought maybe best not to bring it up! Like I said, just curious. They've been pretty fair so far.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for affordable suppliers of solid brass hardware, specifically button studs, snaps, rings, buckles, etc. I currently have a business account at Tandy, which offers a small discount, but it’s not quite enough. I’ve also tried Weaver, Amazon, BuckleGuy, and a few other sources, but the prices remain too high for the bulk quantities I need. I ordered some spare parts for my Pfaff 545 at a company Silac (https://silacsew.com/) and paid the full amount according to their invoice. The company is said to be placed in Livorno, Italy. Since then I have not received the ordered items. On my inquieries (via email) about the whereabouts of the items I have not got any sensible answer. I have been informedd (after inquiering) by Pfaff in Germany, that they have got the items in stock in Germany, but that they did not have gotten any order for those items from Silac.
