I am an ice skate technician, who does equipment repairs for ice skates. An "old hand" mentor of mine showed me a piece of leather he said is known as "skate leather," and is used for repairing various parts of ice hockey skates. Now I'm sure that's just what they called it, and there's no specific designation or type of leather for it. He didn't have a source for acquiring any. Could anyone recommend a type of leather that would have excellent toughness properties, resistant to excessive stretching, is not too thick, and can be folded and conform to contours of the skate. An example for its use would be in the lacing area of a skate when an eyelet rips out…

Some idiot (aka me) has managed to lose the groover blade for his Craftool Delixe Adjustable Groover. I still have the creasing spoon attachment as you see pictured but have misplaced the grooving blade. I know I can get a replacement blade at Tandy Leather for $5.39 + tax but that’s a 2 plus hour return trip and $25 in gas. To order a replacement blade and have it sent costs almost as much, more than the complete tool! I’m on a fixed income pension so can’t afford it. Any suggestions? Or anyone have a spare?

Anybody know where I can find a 3/8 Rectangle Hole Punch that I can purchase online? (I'm in the US) I'm seeing lots of 3/8 hole punches that are oblong, but I'm having a hard time finding a 3/8 Rectangle Hole Punch I need it for a 3/8 leather strap (Thickness: Approximately 1/16") and I'd like the 3/8 hole punch to be close to the size leather I'm using so it'll be a tight fit.

This photo isn't mine, it is just for representation purposes. I'm not looking for recommendations on how to repair this. I'm looking for companies/businesses/individuals that repair leather and offer their services to the public. Please don't recommend taking this to a dry cleaner. That's not what I'm asking here. Are you a company, business, or individual that take on leather repair work as a job? Do you offer mail-in services for leather repair? Or, are you location-specific? Clothing, bags, or other items? If you have a website to share even better!

Hey guys, I'm starting my leatherwork journey, I'm only 2 months in and I had the chance to buy some basic tools to get started and along with that I bought one of those bundles of random leather just to try if I stood a chance in this area The leather that came was horrible but It was enough to see I like this and so I want to work now with real leather. I already studied and know about which leathers I want to work with but I'm struggling to find a supplier in European Union (and not from UK), maybe its because everything I read and the channels I follow are from US. Can someone please share some suppliers in EU? If not possible I can always buy from U…

Hi everyone, I’m a cutting die supplier specializing in custom dies for leatherwork, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on using cutting dies in your projects. I want to understand what leatherworkers truly need and how I can improve my designs. Do you prefer pre-made dies, or do you usually get custom ones? What are the most important factors you consider in a good die? (Material, durability, compatibility with machines, etc.) Do you find dies with stitching holes useful, or do you prefer marking and punching them yourself? What die-cutting machine do you use most often? Clicker presses, roller machines like Sizzix, or something else? …

Has anyone been able to contact Campbell/Randall in Texas by email or the online contact form? I've probably emailed and sent requests through the online contact form 20 times in the past 2 years with never a reply or an undeliverable reply. Always end up buying elsewhere or finding an alternate path forward...I was starting to wonder if they've changed their contact email? I called in an phone order last week when I was in town, so they're obviously still in business. I received an email from them with an invoice from the same email address they post on the website. I replied back to it within 2 mins asking the cost/availability of a heating element and na…
