Morning! So I've been looking around and wondering what each of you find as a more upscale product for wallets and bags, Kidskin or Calfskin? I'm sure each has better and worse applications, but lets say on an even plane which do you prefer and why?

Making some tap offs of my latest designs for belts. Should I cut in the border line also? My patterns are 1-1/2" designs allowing for a 3/16 border on each side. General consensus? Bob Park, Rawhide, ect????

I want to start making my own projects and was wondering what weight leathers do you keep on hand? I don't have a lot of storage space. I want to make holsters, belts and wallets. I was thinking on getting 3/4oz, 6/7oz, 8/9 oz., and so lining leather. My reasoning is that, I could double layer if I needed thicker leather or lining holsters. I have been using kits to get a understanding of different construction. Also, I don't plan on doing much tooling, as I am not very good at it. I have good stamps, just bad operator. What do you think about getting a splitter? Any info would be great. Thanks, Howard

I have a compressor I bought from Harbor Freight and two pneumatic air brushes. I also have an old badger air brush. I bought a air hose from Hobby Lobby. None of the air brushes will spray. Air comes out but it does not pick up any of the fluids from the jar. The hose leaks a little where it connects to the air brush. Would this cause this issue? I have tried cleaning all of the air brushes and tried adjusting the pressure. So far the only thing I have tried to spray is resoline.

Well folks, been out of leatherworker and most every other hobby and craft for a few years. Family first. Long involved court battle to gain guardianship of my grandmother who is in a nursing home with dementia, father moved home from FL with tons of heart problems and passed in July, trying to maintain our home with 3 children and several pets plus renovate my father's home we inherited. Wife is working/living 3 hours from home Tue-Fri, I'm holding down full time job as a computer repair Monkey Sat-Sunday. And as if that all wasn't enough, I decided to take my hobbies and crafts to the next level by starting my own business called "Appalachian Handcraft". …

Good morning, I am just back from spending a week in Ireland with Conor Holder from https://www.holdenleathergoods.com/ (click the course link) . It was superb. I learned so much, used some nice machines and learned tips and tricks that I never would have learned otherwise. Note: I've been in the leather biz for 25+ years and at the top of my game for what I do. This class humbled me (which I needed). I went in to learn and did so. Holden put up some photos on his site, good stuff. I'll rummage through my camera and notes and post some action shots. Regards, Andy www.andysleather.com www.shottist.com

I just started to make holsters to sell. I actually just shipped my first one today. I am curious what you all have found to be tried and true safe methods for packing your leather goods? Also what carriers do you choose to use and why?

My wife and I took a cruise to the Caribbean and we had assigned seating for dinner each night and seated at our table was Lisa Sorrell and her husband. What a very nice lady and great leather worker. Really enjoyed talking leather with her on the cruise and also listening to some great country music (this was the Country Family Reunion 20th Anniversary Cruise). Chief
