Hello all, I was in search of a swingarm bag for my Softail Deluxe. I didn't find anything that really appealed to me so I thought I would try my hand at making one. The bag has its warts but overall I am very happy with the results. I researched and learned quite a bit from the users of this forum. I started with a posterboard template to get the sizing I wanted, thought about the colors I wanted, ordered a few tools, dye and some red thread, and went to town. This is my first shot at making a motorcycle seat. I'd appreciate any comments especially if I could have done better.

Just completed this seat. Not real alligator, it is embossed cow hide with black upholstery leather between the panels. What should I use for protection? Hard coats like Fiebings Tan Kote and Tandy Super Sheene, Or dressings like Dr Jacksons Neatsfoot Oil Compound or Skidmores Leather Cream. The hard coat stuff does not soak in but results in a hard layer of protection. The other stuff has oils, beeswax and stuff that soak in. What to use....?

Finally gonna get around to uploading some pics of what I have been doing lately. Here are three seats that I finished up. The first is stock pan, rebuilt alot of the foam and covered with a reshape. First leather work Ive done in a while. This one isnt necessarily a "cafe racer" style. The second one went straight on a pan a buddy made for a custom build he was doing. Came out allright but the pan shape caused some issues for me upfront. Here is a not so good pic of it on the bike. The last one was a little better but offered up its own challenges, mainly the back and under front part. It actually has its own pan that sit…
