Motorcycles and Biker Gear
Not all saddlebags are on horses! Bikers like quality gear they can depend on, and making and maintaining hard used leather is a challenge to any leatherworker. Show off your work! Teach the world how leatherworkers make bikes beautiful.

This is my second attempt at this logo and about the 4th piece that I have tooled. It is tons better than my first try. Now I'm trying to decide how to embellish it further. I have no particular plans for this, except to come up with a design to eventually use in a seat. http://leatherworker.net/forum/uploads/gallery/album_2280/gallery_50836_2280_27006.jpg

I've never made a set of motorcycle saddlebags, plenty for western saddles but this is a first for a friend. He does not want piping on the edges so it will make my job easier. Throw over design with buckles to attach the the bags to the yoke which will ride across the fender under the passenger seat. Jeremiah Watt stainless steel buckles and conchos using W&C black English bridle leather, 10-12 ounce fronts with 2 layers of 5 ounce on the back with a sheet of Lexan between them. Yoke will be reinforced with 3 strips of 1" wide poly strapping in the yoke to reduce stretching and will slide down on to the brackets he made with spring steel clips to support the bags.…

Hi, Can someone point me in the right direction with regards to my seat build? Most likely I have bitten off too much for my first attempt at solo seats but hey ho! I have two seat pans which I have foamed up ready to start thinking about putting leather to and have a few questions. 1, Lace what size? I have looked at our local web sites in the UK and have a choice of 1/8", I notice in the tutorial 1/4" used 2, as the top will have to be cased to obtain the correct shape should I do that before carving? or carve then shape? 3, what is the measurement of overhang used for the lacing holes Attached a photo of seat base, any help advice would be appreciated

Here are the leather items I made for my husbands HD Roadking. The windshield bag and tank bib/bag have been on the bike for two years. The saddlebag toppers and propad passenger seat cover have been on for a year. They are holding up well in spite of getting wet quite a few times. I have meant to post these for some time.

Heres what I have so far. I left the cheek bones kinda big so he'd look like the clock were I got the idea. The eyes on the clock are solid black so I put some flames in there instead. It needs some kind of background or something. I'm thinking of putting the local cycle shop name on it. M&M Cycles. They said I could put it in thier shop. Still have to do alittle detailing on the skull. Tom

Sweat cuffs for my Biker friend. I just wanted to THANK my friends on LWN for their help with my concerns for this project. I have completed what I hope will be a good solution for him. and that it will be a positive influince on his wrists. I first made a 3-4oz veg tan lining strap the size of his wrist, Then using terry cloth I sewed a sleve to go over that strap. Next I made the outer strap from Latigo, just long enough to go over the inner, but still tight enough for support. And, using Velcro I was able to hold it all together at various points, so the inner strap will be removable in order to remove the sleeve for washing when needed. I used Gum …
