Tiger is lightly embossed. The hair was done one at a time with a tiny tool made by George Gross.

wonderful work and commitment to detail.....i would love the tool you used to create the hair/fur with.

Thank you everyone. The tool I used was actually a harness needle with one side filed down to create a beveller shape. I used the sharp point of that, sideways, to make each hair. It's time consuming, but well worth it. Once you have the hair in place, the coloring is easy.
