Awesome stitching.  Amazing what they will look like after a month of practice.  Incredable work.

Looks like you gittin the hang of it.  Personally, I would try that same approach with a needle ONE SIZE SMALLER.  It MAY  not work, but I'd know for sure then ;)

Reason being, I can see the knots in some places.  This could be a hole a bit too big, or not enough bottom tension, or too much top tension, or could just be the leather isn't thick enough to hide the knot due to the size of the string (?).

Bob up at Toledo sold me the machine (I drove up and picked it up) . . . and he asked me what thread I used.  I have always used 346 in my Tippmann Boss . . . figured the same for this.  I don't like his 346 . . . going to get some down at Tandy's one day soon.  I'm also going to play around with some 277 . . . so I'll definitely be doing a smaller needle there.  Gonna play with some decorative belts.  They were sucha a pain with the Boss . . . it had to be SPECIAL before I would even say I could do them.  But thanks for the tip . . .

It looks great :)

Do try as an experiment some LR (slanted) needles and set a smaller stitch length, I reckon it will look even better.

I'll be doing lots of experimenting . . . finally got a sewing machine that is almost fun to use.  The other one did the job, but bigger projects were a real pain.

Lookin' Sharp, Sir! Especially that two-tone Black and Saddle Tan...really nice! Nothin' "POPS" quite like contrasting white stitching...

I got my machine from the same vendor, mainly use 277...and occasionally have to do a little knob -twisting/needle swapping for the essentially the same reasons that ol' Jeff mentioned above. It's just part 'n parcel of the gig, I reckon. Probably one of the MAIN reasons some crafters end up with a fleet of other machines set up for various thread sizes/project thicknesses/etc.
