Ok, I've got my old machine for sale. It's a Singer 45K25, s/n EG210092. It is a bottom feed only. I put a new shuttle in it and it's really sewing good. It comes with the thread stand, extra bobbins, extra needles, the table and motor. I also have a parts and operators manual for it. This thing weighs quite a bit, so it needs to be shipped truck freight, or you can come pick it up. It has a half inch presser foot lift on it. It sews lighter leather REALLY well, like chaps, vests, and saddle bags. If you're in to sewing heavy stuff you probably don't want this machine. I can do headstalls with it, but that's about all it wants. I'm asking $700.00 but will look at offers. Thanks and e-mail me with any questions.

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that Weavers has changed their shipping policy and thereby increased their shipping cost tremendously! Normally I just file the paperwork from weavers but I took a look at the latest invoice for a buch of high priced lightweight tools, because it seemed to be a bit higher total than I had expected. I was shocked to see that Weavers had hit me for $25 for shipping a small box of tools! This is amost three times what I had been paying for the same type of shipment and adds up to about a 10% price hike on the items that I ordered. YIKES!
I double checked and "back shipped" them through my UPS account, that is the way they came, and the same box would have only cost $9.85 to ship back to Weavers. This seems like a rather steep price hike!
I Called weavers and got the run around "it's policy" routine. I even talked with one of the Weavers, I forget which one, and he said he would check into it and call me back, which he never did, and when I called him back he avoided my call, which rather pissed me off to say the least. Looks like I may be looking for another suplier if they keep this up.
So, If you order stuff from WEavers take a look at the shipping, call them up and complain about it!
Just blowing off steam
Jim
As far as I know they got rid of the minimum order charge and went to a flat shipping rate depending on the dollar amount of your order. Yep, it bites! My orders are usually fairly small and I pay $ 15.00 a pop for shipping. I agree with looking for a different supplier but their selection is hard to beat. I have found a few others out there, but they either don't have much of a selection or their prices are quite a bit higher. Oh well.......

I have heard that Partrade sells hardware. If they do I can't find them on the web anywhere, all I can find is their tack. If anyone has a website or phone number for them I would appreciate it. Thanks again!!!

I'll second Phillips.... they just made mine. The picture I took is not too good but here you go. It looks WAY better in person.
The stamp is less than an inch high! Nice detail!
Looks good to me! Thanks everyone!!

I'm looking for a nice makers stamp. Probably around an inch diameter or so. There used to be someone on Ebay that had some good looking ones for a reasonable price but I can't find them now. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Not that I have any issue with Tandy. I'm just wondering if there are any other designs out there!
I use Trigg Brothers http://triggbrothers.com and Conchos.com alot. They both have a huge selection.

Ok, so far everyone is 3 for 3!! This one might be a little tricky....
I came up with an old FE Smith riveter, so now I would like to come up with a driver and set of anvils that would work for the 104 rivets and caps... The top driver screws in, but I think the bottom anvils are the same as everything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! (...again...)
Thanks in advance. Everyone on here is super helpful!!

Last year at Sheridan, I bought that buckle from Luke and Vandy at Sheridan Leather. I believe they regularly carry that buckle. Give 'em a call 307.674.6679
Happy tooling
Tim
Thanks, I call them.

looking at the photo it looks like the 5/8 buckle that Tandy sells
Thanks, but I have some of the Tandy buckles. This one is quite a bit longer.

Lisa,
Hansen's have several patterns of iron/silver with the cross. Here is a link ot their new website, which I just saw for the first time about 5 minutes ago. - Hansen's Western Gear. (My favorite is the San Martin cross).
We're getting alot closer!!! I think one of those might work. Thanks!!

I have a customer who has some really nice silver overlay sweet iron conchos with a cross in the middle. I need to order some more. Ok, I have checked all the obvious places like Tandy, Weaver, Trigg, Diablo, S&D, Conchos.com..... This concho isn't quite like anything they have. I would appreciate any input on other suppliers who might have these. Thanks in advance!!! Lisa

I am getting way too many partial sides of chap leather. Mainly 4-5 oz in browns, tans and reddish browns. I do have a couple of about 3 oz. Can anyone out there use any of these? I am running out of room ( I didn't have much room to start with) Most of these are nice sides with some pretty decent sized pieces left. Let me know. Thanks!!

Ok, all of you have been super helpful so far.... try this one out.... I am trying to find a dark gray chap leather in a 4-5 oz. Everyone carries black, but the gray seems to be a problem. Anyway a super soft charcoal gray would be awesome! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again in advance!! Lisa

I'm looking for what I think is called a beading tool or a beader. It is used to make that bead, groove or crease on the outside edge of leather, like on belts and saddle bags. Any help would be appreciated if anyone has one or where I can find one. Thanks in advance!! Lisa

You could give Sheridan Leather a call....Sheridan, WY. I have real good luck getting what I want from them. Just tell them what color and weight and they can usually fix you up.

I have been using Trigg Bros. They seem to have a great selection and good prices.

I am looking for some rule steel. At one time I thought there was someone on here who had some steel and possibly a bender for sale. I can find outfits that make dies, but I haven't found anyone who sells just the steel.. Thanks for any help. LW
Need Help Finding An Old Style Snap....

Posted · Report reply
Ok, here's the deal.... My Dad has a pair of saddle bags he had made several years ago. Old Bill Conway put a type of a snap on these bags that I'm having trouble finding. I don't have a picture, but I'll do my best to describe it.
The bottom part of the snap is like a stud, with a ball on the top, and the top part just has a hole this stud snaps into. I was told it is an old military style snap. They are brass. Any help on where of who might have a few of these would be awesome!!!!
Thanks in advance!!
