hi there just getting around to reading this. There was an article in the Leather journal once with how to make roses but they used a douber for the wire with the cotton the center and formed the rose around it. I like this with a bead then you don't have to close up the center as much. I love the color as my mother loves purple. maybe make some for mother's day. Thanks Craftt

hi everyone. when i gave my member information i stated i was in Texas as a snowbird from Missouri. I also told you i was teaching a class in our Park. I had individuals at differnent times some just to make one thing and others who were with me from Jan-Mar. I have a few pictures to show off their work. As we all know Teaching usually means you are the one who learns the most. I did because i was constantly checking out the site for the right answers to their questions. Hope you enjoy and don't be afraid to critique as i have told them about the site. Craftt

Craftt replied to BearMan's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
hi Bearman; i was just cruising as they say. I have a customer that would like a portfolio case with insides and i like your idea for the inside. Just wanted to know if i could use your idea and send it to this person to see before doing the project? I love the colors you ended up with. He wants a sheriff's badge put on his or i would use your whole idea. Thanks for the work you put on the posts. Craftt -
Top Stub Checkbook Cover & Pda Case
Craftt replied to Craftt's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
yeh i know about the mistake but i had someone tell me that would be where the evil spirits can escape. haha! -
thanks but the leather has to go to three differant sides so it has to stretch as well as coming together at the circle end. I have taken pig skin and tried what you said but then couldn't get the right angle for the bottom. Cindy

hello there: i am looking for information on a boot jack kit that Tandy must have put out #4435. I have a copy of page 12 from a flyer or catalouge way back with the title "Tooled Side Panels for Boot Jack Kit" by Tony Laier. I do not have the instructions for the kit just the panels. What i want to know is how to put the leather on the part that protects the boot when taking it off. If someone has an idea of the pattern i need i would appreciate it very much. i had the wood shop make some boot trees for me and i want to finish them.

Same Stuff, Different Day
Craftt replied to Double U Leather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
HI THERE Timing is funny or is it God? I brought out a memo book today to start making a cover for it. Maybe you have already solved that problem. Do you give out your instructions? Craftt -
hi there this is my second post of the day. Sure hope i am getting this right. My name is Cindy and i have been tooling leather for almost 33 years off and on. I do it only as a hobby. I marvel at all the saddle makers and their work while i do mostly Bible covers and smal items. I started way back when girls could not take shop. I was doing my student teaching and ask the shop teacher to get a beginners kit for me while he taught the boys. The rest is history as they say. i probably have every book you could have to learn the different techniques. i am currently trying to improve my sheridan style with the dvd of Chan Geer. i have worked a few craft sales into the hobby to keep the challenges going. Now i am a winter texan as they say and have had a blast teaching a small group in our resort. Will be back to Missouri at the beginning of April where i have the real shop. See ya round the postings. craftt
