  1. Welcome to LW:grouphug5vj5: . Fergs right, there is a lot of knowledge kikked around here.
  2. Thanks for all the GREAT information. Now all I have to find is some tallow. Any ideas?
  3. I was doing a little research today on buying beeswax wholesale; which I was successful. While I was on the website I downloaded a formula for waterproofing leather. The formula read 5 oz. beeswax, .5 oz of tallow and 5 oz. of neatsfoot oil. Together heat all to 160 degree F. This sounds like a good process for waterproofing but, has anyone used this or something like it? If so please tell me what tallow is and where I can get it. Would I be using something like this and not even know?
  4. Iron sharpens iron. Fill the memory banks; children will remember for every:notworthy:

  6. Thanks AndrewMC, I acually found the pattern pieces in my files while cleaning up shop. I'll have to find the other piece (thanks for that catch!).

  15. SOooooooo nice:notworthy: I made one years ago when Tandys sold a Filigree embossed blank (a long time ago) but, it was'nt as good as this one.
  16. just recieved a set of hollow punches, 1/8" to 2". Can't wait to put them to work!

  17. Jesse, Welcome to LW. You must have plenty of time on your hands or plan to be fast with all the practicing your going be doing. With that said, Tandys (if you have one close by) would be the first stop for entry level tools. They have a starter set that has everything you need to get started rather cheaply. They also have "rounders" for practicing on and scrap by the pound. I hope this helps you.
  18. Kiscien Welcome to LW. We are all looking forward to seeing your work (from Canada)
