  1. Hi Austyn, I glue felt on the bottom of mouse pads I make. I buy sheets of it from Hobby Lobby and Michael's and it works great at keeping the pads from sliding around. Regards, Steve
  2. Wow! Awesome work! I struggle with purses and it is so great to see professional purses.
  3. Thanks a million for the pattern. I love that style and will post pics when i make one.
  4. John, Try www.cooncreekoldwest.com: they have the 1904 Garrison belt, which has a buckle that looks very close to what you are looking for. Also, www.carricoleather.com he has Civil War era buckles and may make/locate the exact 1916 buckle you are looking for. Steve
  5. Beautiful carving. Go for it and keep us updated with photos!
  6. Your work is stunning! That is among the most beautiful leather work I have ever seen. It is an honor for us to share in your creations and I thank you.
  7. Thanks for the awesome test! I have used E6000 for a lot of things but not for fillagrees.
  8. Thanks for posting, Eric! Do you have any photos of ones you completed?
  9. Has anyone ever ironed-on "bling" to leatherwork, such as purses, belts, cell cases? Is there a topic here that covers it already? None of my searches have turned up positive yet. I have a friend that wants a "rockstar" iron-on added and I sure don't want to ruin her purse.
  10. Hi Amanda, You have come to the right place...lots of great people here with lots of help! Here is a great book available from Amazon or Barnes & Noble for making horse tack: I make a lot of western gear and if you want some patterns, feel free to ask.
  11. Wow! Outstanding work!!
  12. What a beautiful work of art! I always enjoying viewing all of your postings. They are the product of a master craftsman and a source of inspiration.

  14. I use white .06 sheet styrene (available from Evergreen, Plastruct, or most hobby centers). It comes in a variety of sizes and is easy to mark, cut, or scribe & break and does not deform with normal use (stay away from the finished pattern with X-Actos, tho!!). For large patterns I use a chipboard sheet available from Hobby Lobby. I also use the foamboard occasionally like bikerd69.
  15. Finally got around to making a post and I hope this one hasn't been covered before. I was searching for suitable containers for my stains to eliminate dipping brushes and daubers in the bottles and the mess that makes when I realized the bottoms of plastic water bottles make great containers when cut off. After cutting with an X-Acto knife, I air-dry the "new" containers completely for a couple of days before use. With an athletic family and a horrible community water system, I have a never-ending supply of stain and/or paint containers!
  16. Ok, so I got motivated last night and posted some in my gallery. Need to put some cowboy gear up or I'm gonna have to change my profile to biker gear specialty!!! Later, bro
