  1. I think it is great. I don't know what you mean by "burnish" though.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I will need to make another one and vinegaroon it last, as I was going to use this one as a demo holster to try and sell some. It still will be a good holster, but isn't anything spectacular since I wasn't able to do any detailed boning.
  3. I made some vinegaroon that works like I thought it should. Leather is very black. I made a holster and used the vinegaroon on each piece first. Now that it is sewn together and I got ready to wetform it, I had some problems. First, the leather would not absorb water properly. Second, I can't do any kind of forming on the holster. Is this because I used the vinegaroon first? I made a holster with this same leather last year using Fiebings dye and it formed quite nicely, but rubbed off on my pants, so I wanted to use the vinegaroon.

    Bag Punch

What is the normal width of a belt slot? I have seen some that look too narrow for double thick gun belts. Are they really too narrow? I have seen a punch from Tandy for 1 1/2" slots. Is this too narrow?
  5. Good luck on your holster. I made my first one using Shane's tutorial. It was very informative.
  6. Very nice. Is there any tricks to stitching the belt loop mouth reinforcement piece?
  7. They're better than my early attempts. I think you should leave more room to get a full grip for a draw on them, though.
  8. Try www.defensivecarry.com There are members from all states. Maybe one with a bersa .380 lives near you.
  9. You did that, too. Mine was on carpet. I said some bad words as I saw that bottle flying off the table. The stain is still there. I don't think it will ever come out
  10. Welcome here, Tim. I did some wallets and other small things as a teenager, and once every few years I would make something. I got back into it this year when I couldn't find a holster for my 9mm pistol. Since then, I have made several holsters.
  11. Nice job. It's better than my first holster. I certainly hope it isn't your last holster.
  12. High and tight is good. Can you carry a concealed knife in Chicago? I can't tell from your picture, but is there a welt inside the sheath? If not, the knife will eventually cut the threads.
  13. Lobo, how wet is the leather during the forming? I am going to do more boning detail on my next holster. I plan to start it this weekend.
  14. Thanks. I'll try them as soon as I get some.
  15. Just joined the forum today. Lots of great information here. I love it. I am also looking for pull the dot snaps and will use the links here. I have regular line 24 snaps and the Tandy hand setter kit . Will this work with the DOT snaps?
