I ordered 84" belt strips from Springfield Leather. During checkout I told them in the comments section that I wanted 7 to 8 oz thickness on the strips.

It looks good. The pic is a bit dark to see details, but it looks well made. It does look like your stitch lines are in a bit far fropm the outside edge.

Rayban, I'll try the "both ends" approach next time. I have been doing it by eyeball.

I got a request to make a holster for an H&K P7 PSP. He sent me a pic of his gun. It looks like it may be identical to a Rings gun for a P7 M8. Before I accept the order, does anyone know if they fit in the same holster? I would need to order a dummy gun to make this, and since this customer has bought four holsters from me, I will go ahead and do it. This is a pic of his gun:

I think I would turn this one down. I had someone want an IWB with a thumb break back in November because the wife was afraid it would come out of the holster in her purse. After explaining that it wouldn't, they decided to go somewhere else. Another time I turned down a job for about $200 because I had never built anything like it and they wanted it in 4 days for a hunting trip. There was no way I could deliver anything that fast anyway, even if I had a pattern.

I think these are great. I really want to make one for me this year, before summer, of course. The quiver I currently use is still good, although somewhat beat up. I got it in 1974. But I really want to make a new one. What size did you use for the tubing? I'm assuming it is something like schedule 40 PVC pipe.

It turned out well. I certainly learned more about my machine and belts in general while doing this. I didn't charge enough money for it, though. It is harder to work on one that long, since all my work spaces are shorter. I ended up getting a 6" wide piece of lumber 8 feet long to clamp to my work areas. This made work easier.

I have one for my business but don't really know how to use it in the most effective way, and have trouble keeping it up.

I trim my sweat shield enough so the holster back doesn't cover the magazine release. Nothing is more irritating than having the magazine fall out, seemingly all by itself. I also use blue loctite on the threads.

lws380, a burr possibility had occurred to me, but I don't think there is one, as brown and white are going through the machine just fine. George, I am using 277 on top and in the bobbin. For holsters and belts, should I be using 207 in the bobbin? I am very new to sewing with a machine. Also, I don't know what the needle size numbers you referenced mean. The packages I have show 23, 24 and 25 as sizes. I am using 25, the largest. What is a lube pot?

I like it. That design is one I have been meaning to try as well, just haven't had the time yet. FYI, I use 6-32 T-nuts, #03775. I had the hardware store order a pack of 100 from Midwest Fastener. Lots cheaper then paying .33 for each one.

I used some Feibings Oil Dye on my latest holster after forming. Normally I used alcohol based dye. Does the oil based dye take the place of an application of Neatsfoot oil or should I go ahead and do this step?

I like it. How did you secure the straps to the pouch?

They all appear to be bonded, so maybe the black is bad. I'm going to order a new spool when I place my next order from Springfield.

I miscalculated how much was on the bobbin, but I believe it would have held enough to do the job, as long as I put as much on it as possible.

I don't know if it is bonded or not. I don't know how to tell, if there is a way, or how to find out, since I can't seem to find AH Brands anywhere that works. Their website is gone and the phone number I found is disconnected. I will have to buy a spool from someplace else so I can finish up some things.

The thread appears to be the same size as the white thread, and also the brown thread I just got. The brown thread works just fine. All three say 277 on the spool. The black is by AH Brands, and it looks like they may be out of business.

I like it. I certainly makes belts a whole lot easier. I'm still not quite comfortable around all the curves, so I do some hand operation around them, but I have gotten lots better at using it. So far, I have made 3 belts and 3 holsters with it. Prior to this, I did it all by hand. I used a drill press for the holes with a 1/16 drill turned upside down. I sharpened the flat end with a grinder. This way, it doesn't remove leather, or get clogged up, but makes a nice hole.

Very nice. I like it. Never thought of green for a holster, but they seem to go together. I got a Caiman tail not long ago and will be using it for something in the near future.

I have used the real thing, with a few rounds loaded in, which reminds me of an incident a couple of months ago. A customer loaned me his .40 cal mag. When I got ready to mold it, I had no ammo. I don't own a .40 cal handgun. So I called a policeman friend and asked it I could borrow a bullet. He agreed, but looked at me kind of funny when I came to pick it up, until I explained why.

This is the first holster I stitched up with the Cobra 4. It is for an EA Witness, and goes with the belt in another post.

I finished this gun belt, sewed it on my new Cobra 4. It is 72" to the middle hole. I didn't put enough thread on the bobbin, so I ran out during the stitching.
